42 Degrees Sprint Academy 2023

When: Saturday 1st April 2023, 3:00pm – 9:00pm

Where: Geraint Thomas National Velodrome Of Wales

Who: U12 (Born 2011 or 2012), U14 (Born 2009 or 2010) and U16 (Born 2007 or 2008)

During the session we will be focusing on Roller Drills, Bike Handling, Flying 200’s, Match Sprints, Standing Starts, 500’s and Keirin.

Riders will be timed and have constant constructive feedback. This is a fully inclusive session and the aim is to grow sprinting as a discipline and offer riders more options as they develop and progress through the age categories.

Sprinting isn’t just something you do because you don’t want the long miles, it’s hard work and a highly technical area of track cycling.

Parents, you are welcome to observe from the stands but are not required in track centre. We will have 42 Degrees coaches on hand, however, if you are a BC qualified club coach that is active and wish to attend, please let me know and we can arrange this for you.

Full session plans will be communicated prior to the date with goals set to achieve.

This is not exclusive to Welsh riders, this is open to EVERY youth rider that wants to better their skill base, work hard and enjoy sprinting.

** You do not need to be accredited at Newport Velodrome to attend this session. This is however, for riders with track experience and so unfortunately is not suitable for beginners **
